Stop Urban Sprawl

Against the gradual construction of homes in the East of England.

Graveley

Across South Cambridgeshire, the government wants to build 1,205 homes a year. At that rate, sustained for thirty years, that is 36,150 homes - +48% on existing stock in South Cambridgeshire.

Spread across the 77 settlements in our South Cambridgeshire list, that is an average of 15.6 homes a year per settlement - about 469 over thirty years.

When homes arrive here, they almost always arrive as a bolt-on: a field at a time, each application too small to trigger the reservoir, the substation, the surgery or the station. That is the pattern we are against — not homes themselves.

What we've got now

Now they want another 36,150 homes across South Cambridgeshire.
